Senior Plumber – Facility Maintenance

About the role

The Senior Plumber is a key member of a multi‑skilled maintenance team responsible for the safe and efficient operation of facility plumbing infrastructure. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the role involves both independent work and mentorship of junior trade personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain water, air, sewage, fire sprinkler and industrial waste pipe systems in accordance with codes, specifications and blueprints.
• Diagnose complex breakdowns, perform gas welding, cutting and soldering, and complete detailed documentation such as work orders, time sheets and safety reports.
• Maintain logs, records and certifications required by state or local authorities and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years post‑trade experience in plumbing within a facility maintenance environment.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, plumbing codes, standards and regulations.
• Ability to work safely with hazardous materials and to obtain and retain the required security clearance (NV1 progressing to Top‑Secret).

Required skills

• Plumbing system installation, repair and maintenance.
• Gas welding, cutting and soldering techniques.
• Enterprise Resource Planning (SAP) and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Computer literacy for digital work‑order processing.
