Senior Platform Engineer / Developer

About the role

Lumen8 Media is looking for a senior Platform Engineer / Developer to build and evolve complex, data‑heavy enterprise applications that power live‑event experiences. You will work closely with product leads, designers and operations teams to translate wireframes and stakeholder requirements into robust, scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement sophisticated React front‑ends with component libraries, state management and scalable UI architecture.
• Develop and maintain integration layers, including API design, authentication flows, rate limiting, retries and webhook orchestration.
• Build server‑less backend services, manage JWT‑based authentication and work with PostgreSQL relational databases.
• Model data, refactor schemas and optimise performance using WASM, web workers, caching and virtualization.
• Create 3D/WebGL visualisations using three.js or similar technologies for venue visualisation and broadcast graphics.
• Implement content ingest pipelines, asset management, watch‑folder workflows and stadium content delivery systems.
• Stabilise and evolve large, fast‑built codebases while supporting ongoing operational delivery.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience with React in complex enterprise applications.
• Strong background in integration engineering, API design and third‑party platform integration.
• Proficiency with serverless architectures, JWT authentication and PostgreSQL.
• Demonstrated ability to model data, refactor schemas and optimise large‑scale systems.
• Experience with performance optimisation techniques such as WASM, web workers and virtualisation.
• Hands‑on knowledge of 3D/WebGL rendering (e.g., three.js) and broadcast graphics workflows.
• Familiarity with content ingest pipelines, asset management and FFMpeg‑based playout systems.
• Comfortable collaborating with product leads, providing technical feedback and navigating evolving priorities.
