Senior Physical Security Consultant

About the role

Core42 is seeking a Senior Physical Security Consultant to lead advisory work on Australia’s most consequential built‑environment programmes, including major airports, rail networks, defence estates and iconic public spaces. You will shape security strategies that protect millions of people while working directly with senior executives, designers and government authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct end‑to‑end security risk assessments covering threat, criticality, vulnerability and treatment.
• Translate risk findings into clear protective measures for architects and engineers.
• Develop physical and electronic security designs and specifications aligned with client risk profiles.
• Provide assurance on high‑stakes decisions, defining defensible positions and residual risk acceptance.
• Maintain senior client relationships as the named security advisor on key accounts.
• Engage with enterprise‑level projects and senior decision‑makers across government and commercial organisations.
• Lead winning proposals and deliver work with support from the broader specialist team.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in physical and electronic security consultancy, preferably within large‑scale infrastructure or public‑space projects.
• Proven ability to interact with senior stakeholders, including managing directors, program managers and regulatory bodies.
• Strong analytical mindset with a track record of translating complex risk data into actionable design guidance.
• Demonstrated leadership in senior‑client advisory roles and enterprise‑level engagements.
