Senior Paralegal – Contracts

About the role

Carta is seeking an experienced Senior Paralegal to join its Contracts team within the Carta Law APAC function. You will work closely with supervising lawyers, fellow paralegals, and AI‑backed tools to manage the full lifecycle of commercial contracts for private‑capital clients.

Key responsibilities

• Own prompt intake and first‑round markup of investment‑related NDAs, ensuring rapid client turnaround.
• Support UK lawyers with first‑round drafting and ad‑hoc legal work to free attorneys for complex matters.
• Set up and coordinate client workflows, manage document portals, and drive contracts through to execution.
• Deliver precise, commercially sound contract support while balancing speed and detail.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in transactional or corporate legal work, including commercial contracts and investment‑related NDAs.
• Ability to thrive in high‑volume, deadline‑driven environments without compromising quality.
• Strong grasp of legal concepts and commercial pragmatism to know when to flag issues.
• Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Self‑starter mindset with a focus on process improvement.
• Familiarity with private‑capital markets or fund structures is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AI‑backed contract review tools such as Carta Ava.
• Experience using CLM/e‑signature systems.
