Senior Occupational Therapist - Illawarra

About the role

Ability Action Australia, one of the largest NDIS providers in Australia, is looking for a Senior Occupational Therapist to support participants across the Illawarra region, covering North and South Wollongong depending on where you live. As an experienced clinician you will work in a supportive, collaborative environment and contribute to team development.

Key responsibilities

• Manage an allocated caseload (based on your negotiated hours) and deliver timely therapeutic services
• Assess participants' developmental, cognitive, emotional, psychological and physical function and capacity through clinical observation and standardised assessments
• Interpret findings to set individual treatment goals
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to help participants improve their quality of life
• Maintain awareness of current legislation to ensure compliance
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support participant outcomes
• Support the growth and development of graduates and early career clinicians

Required profile

• Current Occupational Therapy membership with AHPRA
• Experience as an Occupational Therapist or Senior Occupational Therapist beyond graduation
• Passion for community-based support for people with disability
• Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload
• Thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment
• Desire to mentor graduates and early career clinicians
