Senior Occupational Therapist - Brisbane

About the role

Healthii People is recruiting a Senior Occupational Therapist for Meliora Support Services, a charity working across disability and aged care in Brisbane and the South Burnett. The role suits someone who enjoys thoughtful, practical work with people whose lives are more complex than a standard assessment can capture. It is based in Brisbane with travel to the South Burnett once a month.

Key responsibilities

• Own and shape Meliora's OT program, building its processes, standards and ways of working from the ground up
• Carry out functional capacity assessments, write recommendations and reports
• Support longer-term capacity-building work with clients, including goal setting, daily living skills, independence and community participation
• Support Unfunded Lives, Meliora's charitable program helping people with severe disability access the NDIS

Required profile

• Substantial OT experience and a strong understanding of disability and functional assessment
• Clear, defensible report writing
• Confident working independently and able to build therapeutic relationships over time
