Senior Mental Health Pharmacist

About the role

Austin Health is seeking a Senior Mental Health Pharmacist to join its Pharmacy Department on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis. The role combines clinical expertise in mental health with leadership of a multidisciplinary pharmacy team across three campuses.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, coordinate and deliver high‑quality clinical pharmacy services within the mental health portfolio.
• Ensure safe, efficient and innovative pharmacy practices that optimise patient outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with nursing, medical, and allied health staff.
• Provide leadership, mentorship and performance oversight to clinical pharmacists.
• Lead service planning, continuous‑improvement initiatives and evidence‑based practice implementation.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of extensive hospital pharmacy experience.
• Advanced clinical pharmacy knowledge and expertise in mental health.
• Highly effective, professional communication skills.
• Proven leadership capabilities and proactive problem‑solving.
