Senior Medical Superintendent with Private Practice

About the role

The Medical Superintendent Private Practice (MSPP) leads safe, efficient, high‑quality medical care for the Woorabinda community, covering inpatient, outpatient and 24‑hour emergency services while also running a private practice on site.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical care to inpatients and outpatients, including emergency department coverage.
• Maintain a private practice at the surgery on Munns Drive.
• Collaborate with other facilities within Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service as needed.
• Mentor junior staff and support professional development initiatives.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent qualification and eligibility for AHPRA registration.
• Fellowship with ACRRM (FACRRM) or RACGP (FRACGP) highly desirable.
• Experience in general practice, emergency medicine, aged care, mental health and substance‑use care.
• Ability to manage emergency childbirth and hold current ALS and APLS certifications.

Required skills

• Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
• Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) certification.
• Advanced emergency medicine skills or commitment to obtain them.

• Total remuneration up to $455,098 per annum, including salary bands and allowances.
