Senior Medical Practitioner – Staff Specialist/VMO (Moruya)

About the role

The Southern NSW Local Health District is seeking a Senior Medical Practitioner to join the Eurobodalla Regional Hospital in Moruya. This position can be filled as a Staff Specialist or Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) and offers both full‑time and part‑time options.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality clinical care to patients across a range of specialties.
• Lead and mentor junior medical staff and allied health teams.
• Participate in on‑call rosters and emergency response as required.
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support the transition to the new Level 4 Eurobodalla Regional Hospital slated for March 2027.

Required profile

• Medical degree with current registration on the Medical Board of Australia.
• Experience as a senior practitioner in a hospital setting.
• Willingness to work in a regional community and engage with local Aboriginal nations.
• Ability to work flexible hours and negotiate weekly workload.
