Senior Mechanical Engineer - Mineral Processing

About the role

GR Engineering Services Limited (GRES), a process engineering consulting and contracting company serving the mining and mineral processing industries, is looking for experienced Senior Mechanical Engineers to join its Engineering Team. Based at the Ascot office, you will work with a multidisciplinary team on projects across gold, base metals, critical metals and other commodities, with site visits depending on project needs.

Key responsibilities

• Drive study development for mineral processing projects, applying mechanical engineering principles to dry and wet plant components
• Provide technical engineering direction for studies and assist designers with process facility layouts
• Complete mechanical designs and calculations, and prepare or review equipment lists, data sheets, scopes and tender evaluations
• Carry out trade-off evaluations and take part in internal and client design reviews
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design development

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering recognised by the Institute of Engineers Australia
• At least 10 years of technical and practical experience designing, constructing and commissioning mineral processing plants, with detailed understanding of multi-discipline design delivery
• Knowledge of current engineering design standards and practice
• Full and unrestricted Australian working rights

Required skills

• Practical application of design principles, including sizing conveyors, pumps and other mineral processing equipment
• Input into conceptual layouts and designs
• Proficiency with typical engineering software, especially Excel, Word and 3D viewing software
• Strong written communication, planning and organisation skills
