Senior Manager – Student Wellbeing & Safety

About the role

Southern Cross University is seeking a senior leader to head its Stay Well portfolio, overseeing student wellbeing, safety, and engagement services. The role will guide the UniLife and Counselling Safety & Wellbeing teams, shaping programs that support students from enrolment through graduation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Stay Well portfolio, including wellbeing, safety, accommodation, events, equity, sport and support services.
• Drive new initiatives that enhance student engagement, belonging and academic success.
• Partner with senior university leaders to review and improve policies, services and progression outcomes.
• Manage operational planning, budgeting, projects and continuous improvement across all Stay Well functions.
• Use data and insights to evaluate service performance and inform strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior student services or related leadership roles within a complex, high‑volume environment.
• Proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong judgment, collaborative leadership style and a passion for student wellbeing.
