Senior Manager, Cybersecurity & Privacy

About the role

Protiviti is seeking a Senior Manager for its Cybersecurity & Privacy team in Sydney. You will lead advisory services, mentor clients and staff, and drive business development while shaping security strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver tailored cybersecurity strategies, roadmaps and modern security architectures (IAM/PAM, SIEM/SOAR, DLP, EDR/XDR, cloud‑native controls).
• Oversee integration and optimization of security platforms, threat detection, response operations and automation to improve operational resilience.
• Align governance and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC2, PCI‑DSS, Essential 8, APRA CPS 234) with client risk profiles.
• Manage and mentor multidisciplinary teams, act as trusted advisor to CISOs and business leaders, and support go‑to‑market initiatives.

Required profile

• 6+ years in cybersecurity with 5+ years leading security operations or technical teams; consulting experience a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Relevant certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CCAK, CCSK or project‑management credentials.

• Framework expertise: NIST, ISO 27001, SOC2, PCI‑DSS, Essential 8, Zero Trust.
• Identity & Access Management tools: SailPoint, Okta, CyberArk.
• Security operations platforms: Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel.
• Data protection: DLP, Purview, Symantec.
• Endpoint & cloud security: EDR/XDR, CASB/SASE, CSPM across AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Scripting, API integration, DevSecOps and CI/CD automation.
