Senior Manager - Corporate Tax, Private Client Services

About the role

EY is looking for a Senior Manager in Corporate Tax within its Private Client Services practice in Sydney. You will help high-profile clients navigate complex tax challenges, delivering practical, commercially focused advice on Australian tax law while collaborating with a team of professionals across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage taxation services for a designated portfolio of private clients, oversee daily operations, advise on Australian tax law and prepare and review income tax returns and accounting calculations.
• Deliver taxation advisory and compliance services, and support senior team members on complex matters such as ATO risk reviews, audits and ruling applications.
• Lead and mentor managers, senior consultants, consultants and graduates, acting as a counsellor for juniors and helping build a collaborative, high-performing team.

Required profile

• In-depth knowledge of the Australian taxation system, gained in a professional services firm or similar role, with expertise in private client tax compliance calculations, processes and ATO lodgement requirements.
• CA qualification or equivalent, or completion of other postgraduate study such as a Tax Masters.
• Strong communication skills and confidence leading direct engagements with clients on significant tax matters.
• Ideally: experience managing a client portfolio, excellent client-facing skills, commitment to developing junior team members, and ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a dynamic team.
