Senior Linux System Administrator

About the role

The client, a 100% Australian‑owned technology services firm, is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator to support multi‑year infrastructure projects across the ACT and NSW. The role involves managing Linux environments on‑premise and in the cloud, ensuring high availability and security for public‑sector and commercial customers.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Linux systems across on‑prem and cloud platforms, maintaining performance and security.
• Design, deploy and manage VMware and VMware Aria solutions throughout their lifecycle.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking components such as VLANs, DNS, load balancers and firewall rules.
• Set up sandboxed or isolated environments for development and testing.
• Deploy developer and analyst tooling, including IDEs, package managers and access controls.
• Create and maintain system documentation and standard operating procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of Linux systems administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of VMware technologies and networking fundamentals.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation.
• Australian citizenship with a current TSPV Security Clearance.
