Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor (Professionalism Panel Lead)

About the role

Curtin Medical School is seeking a Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor to lead the Professionalism Panel for its MBBS program. The role is part‑time (0.2 FTE) and focuses on upholding the standards of professional behaviour and registration for medical students.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the Professional Behaviour and Registration Panels, ensuring efficient operation and high‑quality record keeping.
• Provide advice to senior academic leaders on professionalism outcomes and influence Board of Examiner decisions.
• Support ethics, medico‑legal teaching, and student selection processes within the MBBS curriculum.
• Collaborate with the Course Coordinator, Unit Coordinators, Domain Leads, and senior leadership to maintain impartiality in high‑stakes professionalism decisions.
• Document panel processes and outcomes in line with Australian Medical Council graduate outcomes.

Required profile

• Medical degree or relevant postgraduate qualification.
• Demonstrated experience in academic leadership, preferably within medical education.
• Strong understanding of professionalism standards and accreditation requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse academic and administrative teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Australian Medical Council (AMC) graduate outcomes.
• Experience with panel governance and quality assurance processes.
