Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor – Precision Agriculture

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor to lead research and teaching in Precision Agriculture at the University of Queensland’s Gatton campus. The role will drive innovation in digital farming, covering precision livestock and cropping systems, high‑throughput phenotyping, artificial intelligence, data analytics, smart farm technologies and climate‑smart production.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, design curricula and provide student mentorship.
• Maintain an active research programme, publish in leading journals and secure competitive research funding.
• Translate research outcomes into industry, policy and commercial applications.
• Develop and lead strategic collaborations with university, national and international partners.
• Supervise and mentor Higher Degree by Research students and junior staff.

Required profile

• Proven record of teaching and research excellence in precision or digital agriculture.
• Experience in obtaining research grants and building industry partnerships.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor early‑career researchers.
