Senior Lawyer – Institutional Transaction Banking

About the role

The Senior Lawyer will provide high‑quality legal support to ANZ's Institutional Transaction Banking business, focusing on Payments & Cash Management and Clearing. You will work in a dynamic environment, advising on product development, regulatory change, and innovative payment solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver strategic, proactive legal advice to the PCM business and related initiatives.
• Draft, review, and negotiate non‑standard documentation, terms & conditions, confidentiality agreements, and other contracts.
• Conduct contract due diligence and assess ANZ's rights, risks, and obligations.
• Support product development and regulatory compliance for payments, receivables, client monies, and liquidity products.
• Collaborate with the Institutional Legal Group to manage legal risk and provide cost‑effective services.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in banking or financial services law.
• Comfortable working in a changing, fast‑paced environment.
• Strong analytical mindset and curiosity about payment innovation.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive, motivated team.
