Senior Investment Analyst

About the role

Fortescue is looking for an experienced Senior Investment Analyst to support the development of large‑scale, green‑energy and industrial projects that underpin the global energy transition. You will join the Investment Analysis team within Group Financial Planning & Analysis and provide trusted financial, economic and commercial insight for high‑impact growth initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain sophisticated financial models, including financing structures, for renewable energy, green iron, data centre and related infrastructure projects.
• Evaluate opportunities across renewable power, green hydrogen, battery storage, transmission and emerging green industrial assets in Australia and internationally.
• Analyse project economics – IRR, NPV, cash flows, capital requirements, leverage and debt service – throughout the project lifecycle from feasibility to exit.
• Support project development, financing and transaction activities, including technology assessments, market‑entry strategies, joint ventures and acquisitions.
• Coordinate inputs from technical, commercial, legal, tax and finance advisors and engage with financiers, government agencies and off‑take partners.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, mathematics, engineering or related discipline; professional qualifications such as CFA, CIMA or ACA are highly regarded.
• 7+ years of experience in financial modelling, investment analysis, corporate or project finance, preferably within renewable energy or capital‑intensive sectors.
• Proven ability to develop complex financial models from scratch and evaluate major capital projects through to Final Investment Decision.
