Senior Interior Designer

About the role

COX, a design-focused architectural practice with studios in major Australian cities and Auckland, is looking for a Senior Interior Designer with 5+ years of experience, including a strong background in workplace design. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from early concepts and client engagement through detailed documentation, consultant coordination and construction, working with Project Leads, architects and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage small-scale projects independently and oversee the day-to-day running of a small project team
• Deliver full design, design development and documentation
• Manage project costs and programmes, and take part in resource allocation
• Handle direct client liaison and maintain project files
• Prepare detailed working drawings, designs, plans, models and schemes, often using CAD / Revit
• Source products and provide samples for clients
• Organise internal design and documentation reviews and improve the quality assurance system
• Keep up to date with industry developments and comply with environmental procedures and document control requirements

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Interior Design or another relevant field
• 5+ years of experience, including workplace design
• Strong problem-solving, communication and time-management skills, able to delegate to and monitor junior team members
• Ability to interpret and carry out instructions and prioritise workload

Required skills

• Revit, Adobe Suite and CAD
• Basic theoretical knowledge of interior design principles
