Senior Front End Software Engineer (3 positions)

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Senior Software Engineers to join ABC Digital Product and help build and evolve large‑scale digital experiences used by Australians every day. We have three senior front‑end engineering opportunities working across audience‑facing digital products, web platforms and content distribution services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable, secure and high‑performing web applications for complex digital environments.
• Build modern public‑facing products using React, TypeScript, Next.js or similar frameworks.
• Design and develop reusable components and functionality across ABC digital products.
• Contribute to technical roadmaps, architecture, solution design and engineering strategy.
• Implement comprehensive unit, integration and end‑to‑end automated testing.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, production monitoring and release processes.
• Drive improvements in web performance, security, SEO, accessibility and software quality.
• Triage and resolve complex production issues, collaborating with DevOps on infrastructure design.

Required profile

• Significant experience building complex, scalable and responsive public‑facing web applications.
• Highly advanced expertise in React and TypeScript.
• Strong experience with Next.js or comparable modern web frameworks.
• Proficiency in a server‑side language, preferably Node.js.
• Deep knowledge of modern development tooling, automated testing and CI/CD practices.
• Understanding of WCAG accessibility, performance, security and SEO.
