Senior Facade Engineer

About the role

van der Meer is seeking an experienced Senior Facade Engineer to join its Sydney team. You will own projects from design through construction, collaborating with internal departments and external clients to ensure successful delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design and model façade systems, including thermal and weather performance, material selection and condensation modelling.
• Prepare façade specifications, engineering reports and waterproofing details, and conduct inspections.
• Perform structural analysis of façade elements such as balustrades, glass, aluminium, and oversee curtain‑wall, Hebel cladding, masonry and waterproofing projects.
• Develop and maintain client and contractor relationships, guiding stakeholders through design requirements.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering.
• Approximately 10 years of façade engineering experience, preferably in Tier 1/2 consultancy environments.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

Required skills

• Facade design and modelling (thermal, weather, material selection).
• Condensation modelling.
• Waterproofing detailing and inspections.
• Structural analysis of façade components.
• Experience with curtain‑wall, Hebel cladding, masonry and weatherproofing reports (FP1.4).
