Senior Estimator – Utilities

About the role

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Estimator in Brisbane to provide accurate, independent cost estimates for major utilities projects. You will work on high‑impact water and wastewater projects, delivering strategic input across the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Build first‑principles pricing for utilities, water, civils and pipework projects.
• Quantify from design information and collaborate with engineers to ensure precision.
• Validate quantities and pricing from suppliers and contractors, source and review quotations, and negotiate competitive pricing.
• Assess and price risk during early project stages.
• Structure estimates, bills of quantities and bills of materials.
• Prepare clear, detailed reports and present findings to stakeholders.
• Provide integrated estimating services and strategic technical advice throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• 10+ years of industry experience, preferably in water utilities and related sectors.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Engineering or similar.
• Consultancy experience and contractor‑side knowledge.
• Strong analytical and communication abilities, confident presenting to stakeholders.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
• Power BI.
• Experience with CSS Candy or Quantum estimating software.
