Senior Engineering Manager – Mobile Banking

About the role

ANZ is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the teams that design, build and operate its mobile banking applications on iOS and Android. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality, secure mobile experiences to millions of customers across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of the mobile roadmap across multiple squads.
• Drive planning, prioritisation and execution to meet customer‑centric outcomes.
• Monitor delivery performance (velocity, throughput, quality) and champion continuous improvement.
• Ensure safe, secure and resilient operation of ANZ’s mobile platforms.
• Partner with the Mobile Principal Engineer and technical leads to shape mobile architecture and strategy.
• Translate strategic direction into actionable plans for engineering teams.
• Build and develop high‑performing Engineering Managers and senior technologists.
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative culture and mentor team members.
• Engage with product, design and other stakeholders as the senior point of contact for mobile delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large, multi‑squad engineering organisations.
• Strong track record of delivering complex mobile products at scale.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to balance long‑term architecture with short‑term delivery goals.
• Commitment to high standards of quality, reliability and security.
