Senior Designer (Retail & Packaging)

About the role

VML is seeking a Senior Designer to lead the creation of retail‑focused visual assets for its Australian client portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Studio Design, you will work on catalogue print, digital ads, packaging updates, pharmacy catalogues and detail aids, ensuring brand consistency across all touchpoints.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers and client teams to interpret briefs and elevate brand visuals.
• Produce high‑quality finished art for advertisements, packaging, and digital media.
• Prepare digital files for publishing, adhering to pre‑press and technical specifications.
• Provide design guidance and oversight to junior designers.
• Respond promptly to design feedback and iterate according to client requests.
• Maintain deep knowledge of client brand guidelines and studio procedures.

Required profile

• Strong eye for design, typography, layout and pre‑press requirements.
• Excellent self‑management and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Experience delivering retail, catalogue and packaging design projects.
• Ability to work quickly in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Finished art creation for ads and packaging.
• Basic retouching skills.
• Preparation of digital files for publishing.
