Senior Dams Engineer – Brisbane

About the role

Join Aurecon’s Brisbane office as a Senior Dams Engineer and lead dam projects across their full asset life‑cycle. You will work on challenging infrastructure that strengthens communities and supports a sustainable future.

Key responsibilities

• Manage dam projects from site investigations and feasibility studies through design, analysis, construction support and operation.
• Develop and implement dam safety management systems, including surveillance, safety reviews and risk assessments.
• Build and maintain client relationships, prepare proposals and oversee financial and technical delivery of projects ranging from small to large scale.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and with clients to deliver innovative solutions.

Required profile

• Chartered Professional Civil Engineer and, preferably, Registered Professional Engineer Queensland.
• Civil engineering qualification with substantial dam industry experience and knowledge of ANCOLD and state‑based guidelines.
• Understanding of geotechnical, structural and hydraulic aspects of civil dams, as well as dam safety management and risk assessment practices.
• Strong communication and technical report writing abilities, capable of presenting concepts to diverse clients.
• Proven ability to lead project teams, mentor junior engineers and contribute to industry events.
