Senior Cost Controller

About the role

UGL Regional Linx, a subsidiary of UGL Transport, is seeking a Senior Cost Controller to join its Country Regional Network (CRN) team in regional NSW. The role partners closely with Operations to provide tactical and strategic financial insight, ensuring accurate revenue and expense reporting, predictive analysis, and timely delivery of results.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and improve business processes, procedures, and systems to enhance profitability.
• Participate in Request for Approval (RFA) processes and conduct required financial analyses.
• Support Project Managers with financial and operational data, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare and present financial outcomes, forecasts, and commentary to senior leadership.
• Attend monthly project review meetings to provide contract performance insights.
• Manage month‑end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met and documentation is accurate.
• Assess pipeline and CRM opportunities for the business line, including enhancement projects.
• Monitor the operations balance sheet, perform reconciliations, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Required profile

• Degree in commerce or accounting.
• CPA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification (required).
• At least 10 years of experience in broad financial roles, preferably within projects, operations, and maintenance environments.
