About the role
As a Senior Contaminated Land Consultant, you will support, manage, and lead contaminated land projects across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure, transport, water, energy, property, and government sector projects. You will work on complex contamination challenges, including site investigations and remediation, while partnering with clients to deliver practical, regulator‑aligned solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and deliver contaminated land projects, including site investigations, contamination assessments, remediation strategies, waste classification, environmental impact assessments, and due‑diligence studies.
- Manage multidisciplinary project teams, subcontractors, and resources to ensure safe, on‑time, on‑budget delivery to the highest quality standards.
- Collaborate with specialists across Arup’s technical disciplines and gain exposure to broader environmental and engineering consultancy, design and construction.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators, consultants, and other stakeholders, providing trusted technical advice and tailored solutions.
- Prepare, review, and oversee technical reports, risk assessments, remediation plans, feasibility studies, and environmental management documentation.
- Mentor junior team members, contribute to capability development, and drive continuous improvement through knowledge sharing and industry best practices.
Required profile
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Earth Science, Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline, with membership (or working towards membership) of a professional body.
- Demonstrated experience in contaminated land assessment, management and remediation within a consulting environment.
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation and delivery of complex technical deliverables.
- Sound knowledge of Victorian environmental legislation, regulatory requirements, OH&S obligations, industry standards and contaminated land guidelines.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, business development and report‑writing abilities, effective in both technical and non‑technical settings.
