Senior Consultant – Risk & Controls Analytics

About the role

Join KPMG’s Governance, Risk, Assurance & Analytics team as a Senior Consultant, working from Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane. You will apply data analytics to high‑profile internal audit, risk and assurance engagements for leading Australian organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal audit, risk management and assurance teams to design risk‑aligned analytics.
• Translate audit and risk objectives into data‑driven testing, including extraction, transformation, analysis and visualisation.
• Deliver insights that improve control effectiveness, identify risks and enhance processes across business functions.
• Partner with clients across diverse industries to solve complex challenges using practical analytics.
• Contribute to the evolution of risk analytics methodologies, reusable assets and digital assurance solutions.

Required profile

• Proven management and team‑leadership experience.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving and commercial mindset.
• Background in internal audit, risk advisory, assurance or controls with analytics exposure.
• Ability to work confidently with risk stakeholders and turn findings into actionable recommendations.

Required skills

• Power BI or Tableau for data visualisation.
• SQL and/or Alteryx for data manipulation and analysis.
