Senior Consultant Internal Audit

About the role

Join nbn as a Senior Consultant – Internal Audit and help shape the future of Australia’s digital infrastructure. Reporting to the Executive Manager Internal Audit and Fraud, you will work alongside internal and co‑sourced audit teams to deliver risk‑based audits and assurance projects across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Execute end‑to‑end risk‑based audits covering governance, technology, security, finance and operational processes.
• Collaborate with the nbn Fraud Management and Investigations team on complex assurance projects.
• Assess control design and operating effectiveness, and develop practical remediation actions.
• Support ad‑hoc audit initiatives and contribute to the internal audit methodology and strategic audit plan.

Required profile

• Proven experience in internal audit, external audit or a similar controls‑focused role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Information Systems or related field.
• Professional qualification such as CIA, CA, CPA, CISA or a commitment to obtain one within 12 months.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to build trusted relationships across teams.

Required skills

• Experience with data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of the COSO framework.
