Senior Cloud Engineer

About the role

Wisr is looking for a senior cloud engineer to own the reliability, security and scalability of its multi‑cloud platform. Reporting to the Head of Technology, you will shape standards, drive automation and partner with product teams to deliver trusted infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, evolve and maintain multi‑cloud infrastructure across Azure, AWS and GCP.
• Champion infrastructure‑as‑code using Pulumi and GitOps, managing the lifecycle of Azure resources.
• Build and operate an internal developer platform to accelerate engineering delivery.
• Define and own SLOs, CI/CD standards, containerisation, and observability practices.
• Lead incident response, post‑mortems and disaster‑recovery planning with the cybersecurity squad.
• Automate operational tasks with modern SRE tools, reducing toil and improving platform stability.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on cloud engineering experience across at least two major providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proven track record of building reliable, secure, and scalable platforms in a fintech or similar regulated environment.
• Strong systems thinking, automation mindset and ability to push back on decisions that risk reliability or security.
• Coach‑like attitude, mentoring engineers and sharing knowledge across squads.

Required skills

• Azure (deep expertise, Azure Expert certification desirable), AWS, GCP.
• Pulumi, GitOps, IaC tooling.
• Container and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, AKS), Helm.
• CI/CD pipelines: GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps.
• SRE practices: SLOs, error budgets, chaos engineering, on‑call rotation, blameless post‑mortems.
• Observability: Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, distributed tracing, log aggregation.
• Networking fundamentals: VPN, private endpoints, DNS, CDN, load balancing.
• Security: zero‑trust architecture, IAM, secrets management, SIEM, vulnerability scanning.
