Senior Civil Engineer – Civil Infrastructure

About the role

Join AECOM as a Senior Civil Engineer delivering civil and site infrastructure projects across Brisbane. You will work with limited supervision to deliver design solutions that meet budget and programme requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver moderate portions of civil/site infrastructure assignments, including stormwater, bulk earthworks, and water/wastewater design.
• Gather, interpret and correlate engineering data, and produce primary design elements such as pit and pipe networks, grading plans, and reticulation layouts.
• Apply quality checks, design verification and ensure compliance with Austroads and local authority standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to resolve utility interfaces, site constraints and constructability issues.
• Mentor junior engineers, supporting capability uplift and good engineering habits.

Required profile

• 5–10 years post‑graduate experience in civil/site infrastructure design.
• Working knowledge of Austroads and ability to interpret local council/authority requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in stormwater (pit and pipe) and bulk earthworks design; water/wastewater and services coordination is highly regarded.
• Strong attention to detail, structured working style and commitment to compliant deliverables.
• Willingness to mentor and support junior staff.

Required skills

• Stormwater design (pit and pipe networks, detention and drainage strategies).
• Bulk earthworks design (grading, cut/fill balance).
• Water and wastewater infrastructure design (reticulation layouts, services coordination).
• WSUD inputs and integration.
• Knowledge of Austroads standards.
