Senior BIM Coordinator – Roads & Highways

About the role

SMEC is seeking a Senior BIM Coordinator to join its Roads & Highways team in Melbourne. You will play a pivotal role in delivering major transport infrastructure projects across Australia by leading the digital delivery and BIM coordination efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary design and construction teams to implement BIM standards across projects.
• Set up, manage, and optimise BIM workflows for complex road and highway schemes.
• Ensure high‑quality, coordinated digital models are produced and maintained.
• Mentor and support team members in BIM best practices and CAD usage.
• Provide technical guidance on model integration, clash detection and data exchange.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years experience on transport or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of BIM and CAD methodologies.
• Hands‑on experience with the Autodesk suite, especially Civil 3D, Navisworks and Revit.
• Proactive problem‑solver with the ability to guide junior staff.
