Senior Bakery & Deli Assistant

About the role

Drakes Supermarkets, the largest independently owned supermarket chain in Australia with more than 60 stores across South Australia and Queensland, is hiring a Senior Bakery & Deli Assistant. Reporting directly to the Bakery or Deli Manager, the person will help run the day-to-day operations of the department, make sure products are always available and deliver a high level of service to customers. This is a permanent part-time position starting at 25 hours per week.

Availability requirements

• Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm
• Fortnightly rotation of a Saturday or Sunday shift
• Flexibility during periods of team leave
• Willingness to support nearby stores if required

Required profile

• Eager to progress their career in a retail supermarket environment
• Food handling experience or fresh food retail knowledge
• A positive 'can do' attitude
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Commitment to work health and safety standards
