Senior Audit Manager – Investment Operations

About the role

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Internal Audit Manager to join a leading financial services organisation, providing independent assurance across investment management and funds operations. The role is highly visible, working closely with senior executives and key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead risk‑based audits across investment asset classes such as shares, derivatives, fixed income, cash and money‑market instruments.
• Evaluate controls across front, middle and back‑office operations, including trade execution, valuation, settlement and reconciliations.
• Assess investment governance, fund administration, portfolio management and related controls.
• Review risks linked to investment mandates, liquidity, custody, outsourcing and third‑party providers.
• Evaluate regulatory compliance and operational risk across investment activities.
• Deliver audit findings and practical recommendations to senior management and Audit Committees.

Required profile

• Internal audit experience within investment banking, asset management or funds management.
• Strong understanding of investment products, financial markets, fund structures and operational risks.
• Experience auditing investment operations, fund administration, governance or portfolio management.
• Knowledge of ASIC and APRA regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with confidence to challenge senior executives.
• Relevant professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CIA or CFA are highly regarded.
