Senior Association Manager

About the role

ASN Events is seeking an experienced Senior Association Manager to lead a portfolio of association clients. You will act as the primary trusted advisor to Boards and Committees, shaping strategic direction while ensuring operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with association Boards, Committees and key stakeholders.
• Provide strategic advice on governance, operations, membership growth and long‑term planning.
• Lead planning sessions, anticipate issues and deliver proactive solutions.
• Review, improve and standardise operational processes across client portfolios.
• Identify improvement opportunities, implement effective systems and drive consistency and efficiency.
• Mentor and support a small internal team, fostering leadership and professional development.
• Occasionally travel interstate and attend evening or weekend board meetings and conferences.

Required profile

• Significant experience in association or client‑facing management roles.
• Proven ability to engage with senior governance bodies and influence strategic outcomes.
• Strong operational mindset with a track record of process optimisation.
• Excellent judgment, strategic thinking and the capacity to translate ideas into measurable results.
• Flexibility to work hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) and adapt to occasional evening/weekend commitments.
