Senior Associate - Corporate & Commercial

About the role

Coulter Legal, one of Victoria's largest regionally based law firms, is seeking a Senior Associate for its Corporate & Commercial team, which advises on the purchase and sale of businesses, corporate structuring, intellectual property, franchising and related commercial arrangements. The role suits someone with solid, demonstrated experience in these areas, able to deliver tailored advice to clients ranging from SMEs to large national organisations. It is full-time or part-time (minimum four days per week) in the Geelong or Melbourne office.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate, timely and considered commercial advice, including sale and purchase of businesses and corporate structuring, and ideally corporate law and franchising.
• Deliver outstanding client service, including onboarding new clients.
• Manage multiple tasks efficiently and accurately, including deadline and reminder management.
• Maintain control of priorities through effective time management.
• Support business development and present to current and prospective clients.
• Work closely with Principal Lawyers and Special Counsels and mentor early-career lawyers.

Required profile

• At least five years post-admission experience in a commercial team.
• Demonstrated experience in general commercial law and in building client relationships.
• Experience in franchising and general corporate matters.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
