Senior Architect / Associate - Data, Defence and Health Projects

About the role

An established, multidisciplinary design practice is looking for a Registered Architect to join its Melbourne team. The role focuses on major data centre, defence and health projects, combining design leadership, technical delivery and commercial responsibility. It suits an experienced Senior Project Architect or Associate who wants greater ownership and influence, with scope to contribute to studio growth and progress toward a broader leadership role.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex projects from briefing and concept design through to detailed documentation, consultant coordination and construction delivery.
• Oversee project programmes, budgets, resourcing and financial performance, balancing design quality with commercial objectives.
• Drive delivery of technically challenging projects across data centre, defence and health sectors, working with multidisciplinary teams and national colleagues.
• Build trusted client relationships, coordinate consultants and manage stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Contribute to team development, studio operations and business planning, with the opportunity to take on increased leadership responsibility.

Required profile

• Registered Architect with substantial experience delivering complex projects across multiple project stages.
• Proven capability leading large-scale projects, with strong technical knowledge, consultant coordination and project management skills.
• Experience across data centres, defence or healthcare projects is highly regarded, especially where projects involve complex technical, regulatory or operational requirements.
• Confident communicator able to lead project teams, manage client relationships and engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Commercially astute and proactive, with an interest in contributing to business growth and developing toward studio leadership.
