Senior Application Developer – Microservices & API (10‑month contract)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Application Developer to join a major organisation delivering specialised software within a regulated environment. The role focuses on building and maintaining micro‑services‑based platforms and API ecosystems that support legal and regulatory obligations. This is a 10‑month fixed‑term contract based in Sydney or Melbourne and requires Australian citizenship.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain enterprise‑grade microservices applications.
• Lead the creation of secure, scalable, high‑performance APIs.
• Collaborate with solution architects and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with regulatory requirements.
• Develop customised software for legal and regulatory contexts, including lawful interception capabilities.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, coding standards and best‑practice guidelines.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design workshops and agile delivery ceremonies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across distributed systems.
• Support continuous improvement of development, testing, deployment and operational processes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in microservice architecture and development.
• Proven track record delivering customised legal and regulatory software solutions.
• Strong understanding of enterprise software design principles and patterns.
• Experience working in Agile delivery teams.
