Senior Acoustics Engineer - Brisbane

About the role

A 350-person Australian-owned consultancy with eight offices across Australia is looking for a Senior Acoustics Engineer based in Brisbane. The acoustics team was started 18 months ago and is now handling around 35 live projects. You will join as the senior engineer and second in charge of the national team, taking on your own projects while helping the workload fit everyone.

Key responsibilities

• Take on and run your own projects, including client meetings, site measurements, modelling in SoundPLAN and Insul, and reports through to QA
• 70 to 80% of the work is building acoustics across health, education and Defence; the rest is environmental acoustics
• Review work from two junior engineers and help them grow
• Act as the point of contact for the national team when the national lead is away
• Be coached into business development as you go

Required profile

• Around 5 to 8 years in acoustic consulting, mostly building and architectural acoustics
• Experience running projects end to end and dealing with clients independently
• An appetite to build something, not just deliver the next job
• Australian citizenship preferred, as much of the upcoming Defence work needs baseline clearance
• Experience at both a large multidisciplinary firm and a boutique acoustic consultancy is an advantage
