Senior Accounts Payable Officer

About the role

As a senior member of the Finance team at Fresh Hope Communities, you will lead the accounts payable function across our Rhodes, Sydney campus. You will ensure timely processing of supplier invoices, maintain accurate vendor records and support month‑end financial activities.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, verify coding and ensure correct entry.
• Create, maintain and reconcile vendor accounts.
• Administer the accounts payable automation system, including invoice approvals and workflow management.
• Execute supplier payments in line with terms of trade and distribute remittances.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve queries with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Manage corporate credit‑card transactions and approvals.
• Assist with month‑end activities such as journal entries and invoice processing deadlines.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounts payable processes, compliance and efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years’ experience in accounts payable within a medium to large organisation handling high‑volume transactions.
• Experience using accounting and accounts payable automation systems.
• Strong organisational, time‑management and reconciliation abilities with excellent attention to detail.
• Superior communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as an enthusiastic team player.
• Willingness to work within a Christian context and align with Fresh Hope Communities’ mission and values.
