Senior Accountant with Australian Accounting Experience

About the role

We are looking for a highly organised Senior Accountant to manage financial administration across multiple entities, including a technology services business, investment entities, and investment properties. You will work closely with senior leadership to ensure accurate records, reliable reporting, and scalable finance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day bookkeeping across four Xero files and associated entities.
• Maintain accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, coding, and payment records.
• Complete bank, balance‑sheet, and transaction reconciliations, including software licensing and vendor charge reconciliations.
• Standardise financial coding, descriptions, and record‑keeping practices.
• Prepare financial reports to support business, investment, and lending decisions.
• Assist with GST, BAS, payroll, and other bookkeeping obligations.
• Develop and document repeatable bookkeeping procedures and use AI/automation tools to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of practical bookkeeping, accounting, or finance administration experience.
• Strong hands‑on proficiency with Xero accounting software.
• Knowledge of Australian GST, BAS, payroll, and taxation requirements.
• Degree or diploma in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, Bookkeeping, or related field.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills and high integrity.
