Senior Accountant

About the role

We are partnering with a leading organisation to hire a Senior Accountant to join a high‑performing finance team in Sydney. The role offers exposure to complex financial reporting, strong visibility across the business and clear progression opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS/AASB guidelines
• Management of the month‑end close process, including journals, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis
• Support year‑end audit processes and act as a key liaison with external auditors
• Maintain balance sheet integrity and ensure strong internal controls
• Assist with technical accounting matters and implementation of accounting standards
• Partner with stakeholders across finance and the wider firm to provide financial insight and support
• Assist with the budgeting process
• Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and finance transformation initiatives
• Tax compliance, FBT and GST calculations

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified; audit or business services background preferred
• Strong financial accounting background, ideally in property, real estate or a complex corporate environment
• Solid knowledge of IFRS and statutory reporting requirements
• Experience with tax compliance
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Confident communicator able to engage with senior stakeholders
• Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach
