Senior Accountant

About the role

Stannards is seeking a motivated Senior Accountant to join its Business Services team in Melbourne. You will lead the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for a diverse client base, including operating businesses, high‑net‑worth individuals and family groups, while gaining exposure to specialist tax consulting and corporate finance projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
• Prepare and review financial statements and Business Activity Statements.
• Provide strategic tax advice covering GST, CGT, FBT and Division 7A.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through direct communication and meeting attendance.
• Perform initial reviews of work prepared by graduates and accountants.
• Provide training and support to junior staff as required.
• Liaise with the ATO, ASIC and other regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of accounting or business services experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting or a related field.
• Currently studying or completed a CA or CPA qualification.
• Experience with a variety of entities, including companies, trusts and self‑managed superannuation funds.
