Senior Accountant – Business Services

About the role

An experienced Senior Accountant is needed to join a national accounting and advisory firm in Brisbane CBD. The role blends technical Business Services work with client interaction, advisory exposure, and a clear progression pathway.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
• Manage BAS, IAS and other compliance requirements, including tax planning and general taxation advice.
• Produce management reports, year‑end work and support clients with day‑to‑day accounting matters.
• Build strong client relationships, identify commercial advisory opportunities and mentor junior team members.
• Collaborate with managers and partners on complex client engagements.

Required profile

• 3‑5+ years of experience in Australian public practice, strong Business Services and taxation background.
• CA/CPA qualification completed or in progress.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and confidence dealing directly with clients.

Required skills

• Preparation of financial statements and tax returns.
• Australian taxation compliance (BAS, IAS, tax planning).
• Management reporting and year‑end accounting.
