Security Officers - Public Housing

About the role

MSS Security, one of Australia's leading security companies, is recruiting professional and reliable Security Officers for public housing sites across Melbourne. Three separate roles are available: Foot Patrol Security Officer, Control Room Operator and Mobile Patrol Operator.

Key responsibilities

• Foot Patrol: conduct regular foot patrols of designated sites, monitor buildings, common areas, entrances, car parks and surrounding grounds, identify and respond to security risks and suspicious behaviour, assist residents and visitors, and report and escalate incidents according to site procedures.
• Control Room Operator: monitor CCTV, alarms, radios and security systems, receive and assess incident information and requests for assistance, coordinate patrol officers to incidents, maintain accurate incident records and escalate incidents to management, police or emergency services when required.
• Mobile Patrol Operator: conduct scheduled and ad-hoc vehicle patrols, monitor buildings, car parks, entrances and external areas, respond to alarms and incidents, identify suspicious activity and property damage, and report incidents to the Control Room.

Required profile

• Full Australian working rights.
• Valid Victorian Security Licence.
• First Aid and CPR certificate.
• Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to remain calm in challenging situations and to stand or walk for extended periods.
• Full Victorian driver licence required for the Mobile Patrol Operator.
