Security Officer – Cyber Security

About the role
The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Security Officer to protect its information and technology systems. You will work within a supportive team, applying cyber security expertise to safeguard vital public services across Victoria.
Key responsibilities
- Provide specialist cyber security advice and guidance to business areas.
- Coordinate audit, assurance and information security activities.
- Maintain accurate information asset registers and manage security requests.
- Deliver practical cyber security training, workshops and awareness sessions.
- Prepare clear reports, briefs and incident records while supporting incident response.
Required profile
- Qualifications in IT or cyber security are desirable.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Baseline security clearance.
- Sound knowledge of cyber security, information security or protective security frameworks.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Clear communication skills and ability to build positive working relationships.
