Secondary Teacher (Years 7‑12) – First Nations Focus

About the role

Carinity Education Shalom is seeking a passionate Secondary Teacher to work with Years 7–12 students, primarily First Nations learners, in a safe, inclusive and trauma‑informed environment. You will deliver student‑centred learning aligned to the Australian Curriculum and support young people to re‑engage with education and achieve personal and academic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop and deliver engaging lessons that meet Australian Curriculum v9 standards.
• Build strong, trust‑based relationships with students, supporting their wellbeing and growth.
• Manage classroom behaviour using calm, consistent, trauma‑informed approaches.
• Collaborate closely with youth workers, support staff, families and external services to meet student needs.
• Participate in team planning, case discussions, attendance monitoring and accurate record‑keeping.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher registered with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
• Demonstrated ability to work with culturally diverse and at‑risk students.
• Strong communication, organisational and collaborative skills.
• Alignment with Carinity’s Christian values of compassion, respect and teamwork.
• Valid driver’s licence.
