Secondary Humanities (HASS) / English Teacher

About the role

Australian Christian College (ACC) Southlands, a Christian education school in Albany with about 300 on-campus students from Kindergarten to Year 12, is seeking a passionate Secondary Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) / English Teacher. The role is full-time, starts in Term 1 2027, and involves teaching Secondary HASS and English; the specific year levels and responsibilities depend on the applicant's qualifications and experience. The appointment is subject to employment screening for identity, right to work in Australia and child protection.

Required profile

• Appropriate qualifications and experience teaching Secondary HASS and/or English, with the ability to teach across Years 7-12.
• Sound understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and ability to plan and deliver differentiated learning experiences.
• Strong subject knowledge and ability to develop students' critical thinking, literacy, communication and analytical skills.
• Capacity to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes, receive feedback and implement change.
• Supportive of an explicit instruction approach based on a knowledge-rich curriculum.
• Ability to plan for, collect and analyse educational data and devise strategies and interventions to improve outcomes.
• Demonstrates excellent teaching as described by the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
• Active Christian faith, suitable tertiary qualifications and registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA), or eligibility for registration.
• Current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain one.
