About the role

We are building a pool of Secondary Generalist – Big Picture teachers for permanent, fixed‑term, full‑time and part‑time positions at John Tonkin College. The role focuses on personalised, project‑based learning that connects students with real‑world pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver curriculum-aligned lessons across secondary subjects while embedding the Big Picture Learning philosophy.
• Guide students through advisory sessions, helping them set and achieve personal and academic goals.
• Design and facilitate authentic, project‑based learning experiences and community partnerships.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching practices and reflective assessment strategies.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to school improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with a commitment to inclusive, student‑centred education.
• Demonstrated ability to personalise learning and engage diverse learners.
• Strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum.
• Willingness to adopt reflective practice and continuous professional development.
