Science Teacher (Year 7‑12) – Fixed Term

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join Broome Senior High School for a 12‑month fixed‑term, full‑time position starting Term 3 2026, with the possibility of permanency. The role involves delivering Year 11‑12 ATAR and General Science, as well as teaching Science to Years 7‑10.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across lower and senior secondary curricula.
• Teach subjects such as Human Biology, Physics, Chemistry or Biology where qualified.
• Collaborate with the Science team and broader faculty to support student learning.
• Contribute to the school’s digital technologies program as needed.
• Support students with diverse learning needs, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching qualifications and experience teaching Year 11‑12 ATAR and General Science.
• Ability to teach Year 7‑10 Science and, preferably, Human Biology, Physics, Chemistry or Biology.
• Experience working with students of varying literacy levels and special needs.
• Willingness to work collaboratively in a strong team environment.
• Knowledge of trauma‑informed practice and Positive Behaviour Support is desirable.
